General Description
Bromocresol Purple 0.1% is an artificial indicator dye fabricated within the TriStains indicator line and is commonly used to ascertain the level of pH in educational, environmental and professional settings. Its uniform operation gives consistent results that can be reproducible in normal and advanced laboratories. This indicator is a part of the triphenylmethane dye group and thymol blue family. The 0.1 percent formulation offers better sensitivity as compared to lower concentration variants. The indicator is purple in neutral to slightly alkaline and yellow in acidic environments with a specific range of transition of 5.2 to 6.8 pH.
Classified as a triphenylmethane dye within the thymol blue indicator family, this 0.1% formulation offers greater sensitivity compared to the commonly used 0.04% concentration. At neutral to mildly alkaline reactions, the solution would be purple, and at acidic reaction the color would change to yellow and the transition range is between pH 5.2 and 6.8. This indicator is commonly called BCP, Bromo Cresol Purple or 5, 5 -Dibromo-o -cresolsulfophthalein sodium salt and is widely used in instructional and analytical laboratories as well as in microbiology. Having consistent supply chain, safe packaging, variable buying decisions, and client-focused technical support, TriStains guarantees effortless acquisition of both small-scale and large-scale laboratory needs without distorting quality and performance
