Buy Acridine Orange HCL (65-61-2) MF: C17H19N3 · HCl | MW: 301.81. Get High Quality Acridine Orange HCL (65-61-2) from TriStains.
Acridine Orange HCl is a cell-permeable fluorescent nucleic acid binding dye. At low concentrations, it intercalates into DNA and precipitates RNA. However, at high concentrations, it denatures and precipitates both RNA and DNA. It enters acidic organelles in a pH-dependent manner. At neutral pH, Acridine Orange emits green fluorescence, while in acidic conditions, it accumulates in acidic organelles, emitting bright red fluorescence. Acridine Orange HCl is also known as Rhoduline Orange. Acridine Orange hydrochloride produces orange fluorescence when binding to ssDNA or RNA, and green fluorescence when binding to dsDNA (Ex: 488 nm; Em: green fluorescence at 530 nm, orange fluorescence at 640 nm).
