Azur ll Eosinate is a dark green to green-black powder. It is a chief ingredient of Giemsa Stain. Azure II eosinate is also used for preparation of Romanowsky stains. Azur ll Eosinate is made by mixing equal ratios of Azure B, Methylene Blue and Eosin Y stains. Its chemical formula is C51H40Br4Cl2N6Na2O5S2. When it mixed with water, it gives hazy to turbid dark blue solution. Azure II Eosinate powder dye is used in various staining methods in microscopy.
