Sudan Orange G CAS: 2051-85-6 | MF: C12H10N2O2 | MW: 214.22, Buy Histological Stains & Dyes for Histology, Cytology, Microbiology, Hematology & Biology Lab from TriStains.

Sudan Orange G (CAS No. 2051-85-6) is an orange synthetic dye of the Sudan dye family. This azo dye has the molecular formula C12H10N2O2 and has typical chromophoric azo groups (-N=N-), which make it brilliantly colored. Being a part of the synthetic organic colorants category, Sudan Orange G has been appreciated due to its high color intensity, chemical stability and ability to resist fading. Because of its superior color stability and permanence, it is also commonly employed in biological staining, in applications in analytical research, and in long-term stabilized coloration processes in the industry.

Applications

  • Sudan Orange G is usually used in biochemical and analytical studies involving enzymatic biotransformation processes. It is also applicable in Liquid Chromatography -Mass Spectrometry (LC-MS) as an Internal Standard to promote the correct analytical measurements.
  • Sudan Orange G is used in histology and cytology laboratories to stain biological samples, so that better cellular and tissue architecture can be viewed under the microscope. It has bright staining properties and this feature makes it a vital dye in histological studies, microbiology studies, and hematology labs.

Key features

  • Laboratory-Grade & High Purity: Assembled to work dependably in research and diagnostic labs.
  • Orange Staining, Bright, Long-Lasting: Gives strong and permanent colouration that can be used in a microscope and analysis.
  • Repeatable and Comparable Results: Maintains constant staining and reliable analytical behavior between batches.
  • Cost-Effective & Stable: Very light and chemical resistant, low replacement rate, and allows long-term laboratory use.

General Description

Orange G (CAS No. 2051-85-6) is a high-purity synthetic azo dye designed for use in advanced laboratory staining and analysis. Being a member of the Sudan dye family, it is highly soluble and has a good color strength, as well as being highly resistant to fading. The following properties render it suitable for histological staining, chromatographic analysis, and its use in the biological research field. It has a strong resistance to exposure to chemicals and light; hence, its widespread use in laboratories. TriStains is the reliable choice in terms of quality and dependability of supply for laboratories that require certified and research-grade histological stains and analytical dyes.

Sudan Orange G (2,4-Dihydroxyazobenzene) is useful for staining triglycerides in animal tissues (frozen sections). Sudan dyes are a group of lipid soluble solvent dyes often called lysochromes, in structural classification they are diazo dyes. With the use of certain solvents, may also be used to stain some protein bound lipids in paraffin sections. The enzymatic oxidation of Sudan Orange G has been studied and inhibitory effects on the growth of Saccharomyces cerevisiae, shows that the enzymatic bioremediation process reduces the toxicity of Sudan Orange G by 3-fold. In polymer studies, Sudan Orange G has been used to probe non-specific interactions.
